— Why a native app

The same calm workflow, where you actually cook and shop.

The web app is great at the desk. The iPhone app is better when your hands are full of groceries or covered in flour.

At the store

Shopping mode in your hand. Items grouped by aisle, big tap targets, check off as you go without ever pulling out the laptop.

In the kitchen

Cook mode keeps the screen awake and the recipe steady. The AI cook assistant is a tap away when you need a quick answer.

Anywhere ideas strike

Save a recipe from a website, snap a photo of the back of a box, or jot one down on the fly — your library catches it.

— What you can do

Everything from the web, tuned for one thumb.

Built native in SwiftUI for fast taps, smooth scrolling, and the small details iPhone owners notice.

A simple weekly view tuned for phones. Drop a recipe on a day, adjust servings, and the rest of the workflow updates with you.

  • Day-by-day weekly layout
  • Servings and leftover tracking
  • AI-assisted planning

Grocery Lists

A grocery list built for the store.

Generated from your meal plan or built by hand. Shopping mode groups by aisle so you move through the store in one pass.

  • Aisle-grouped shopping mode
  • Manual items and standalone lists
  • AI cleanup and price estimates

Cook Mode

A quieter screen while you cook.

Step by step, with the screen kept awake. Tap the AI cook assistant for a quick answer about technique, timing, or substitutions.

  • Screen wake-lock
  • Real-time AI cook assistant
  • Step-by-step focus view

AI Tools

AI help where it actually saves time.

  • Recipe import from photo or link
  • Recipe simplifier and editor
  • Nutrition and allergen estimates

— iPhone app FAQ

Quick answers about the app.

Is the iPhone app really free?

Yes. Anyone with a ChefDeck account can use the iOS app at no extra cost. The same plan you use on the web carries over — free accounts stay free, and Pro features stay available.

Does my data sync between the iPhone app and the web?

Yes. Your recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and saved items are stored in your ChefDeck account, so anything you create on one device shows up on the other in seconds.

Do I need a separate account for the app?

No. Sign in with the same email and password you use on the web. New to ChefDeck? You can create an account directly from the app.

Which iPhone and iPad models are supported?

ChefDeck runs on iOS 17 or later and works on both iPhone and iPad. Older devices are not supported during the beta.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. iOS is the focus during the beta so we can ship a polished experience first. The web app works well in mobile browsers in the meantime.

What does "beta" actually mean for me?

The app is stable and being used daily by testers, but a few features are still being polished. You may run into the occasional rough edge — please report anything you see and we will get it fixed.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Use the contact form on the site. Include the iOS version and a screenshot if you can — it helps a lot when reproducing the issue.
